Wind Generation Industry

The most essentially used transformer in the wind generation industry is a step-up transformer.  The wind turbine transformers/ step-up transformers act as a bridge between the wind generator, energized by wind turbines and the turbine lines.

The installation options for such transformers are - on the outside or inside the wind tower.  For installing them within the tower, one can do it either at the base of the tower or on the top of it.

How does a transformer support a wind generation facility? It steps up the low-output voltage from the generators to the higher distribution voltage level.
